Short Term Urgency, Long Term Patience
My New Newsletter
Welcome to my new email newsletter.
Today's thought: The most important thing for me is focusing on my daily inputs and enjoying the journey because that's what allows me to have patience while building my grand vision over the long term.
I hope this email helps you gain some clarity into what's important to you!
If you asked most people who know me they'd probably tell you i'm impatient.
And I'd have to agree with them... sort of.
I like to move quick and get things done fast, but that's only because there's a never ending list of things to do when you want to craft yourself and your life into the best possible versions.
Building businesses.
Crafting the body of your dreams.
Enjoying an amazing social life in all the best places.
Forming a powerful network of potential business partners.
There's a million micro actions that go into all of these. There's also a million things to learn as you fail your way to success. There's no way around - you have to put the time in to be successful (pro tip: so you might as well start today).
So then obviously there is a huge advantage to move quickly with the action you take on a daily basis. But you also have to allow time to do it's thing to see success.
So that brings us to a conundrum.
"How do i move fast while also being patient?"
The answer, like most answers in life, reveals to us the dual sided nature of everything. Because you have to do and balance both; long term patience with short term urgency.
If you want to move quickly while also being patient you need 2 things:
A long term vision
One that get's you excited so you can focus on that to get you through the inevitable setback that you will face.
You long term vision should be self evident.
And there's not much i'll say on it in todays email (i'm sure we'll touch on it in another) but here's a few questions incase you have no idea what you want in life:
What get's you excited?
What are you naturally interested in?
What do you think about most?
What do you spend your free time doing (or wishing you could be doing)?
What are you naturally good at?
A daily schedule
A daily schedule that is optimized for productivity AND enjoyment of life so you can stick to it for as long as it takes to be successful.
ALL of that above was a long way for me to get to what inspired todays newsletter: The perfect daily schedule i came up with while reading shirtless in the sun with my morning coffee on the back patio this morning.
It goes something like this:
6:30am wake up, meditate, 10 min yoga flow
7:00am make coffee, read, start writing, send email, post ig story
8:30 workout, get active, drink a smoothie, eat eggs
10am work on businesses
2pm make lunch
3pm get into the world
4pm get into the world
5pm get into the world
6pm get into the world
7pm dinner
8pm creative editing time,
9pm day review and next day planning
9:20pm relax
10pm relax
11pm sleep
That's the gist of it.
And of course - it's important to stay flexible and adapt. For example, i take meetings throughout the day wherever i'm at using my phone and AirPods.
The most important part of the schedule, and the one you might be confused about: "get into the world".
This is a cornerstone of my life philosophy.
Being stuck in an office or trapped in your house all day are both no way to live in todays world.
The internet, wireless hotspots, software, and A.I. have radically altered how our economy works. And it will only get more and more noticeable moving forward.
The key take away from this can't be understated: Anyone can build a business to live any life they want.
Want to work 100 hours per week building the next unicorn? Go for it!
Want to build a highly profitable online interest based business to replace your current income doing something you love while also getting time back in your life? You can!
How about a skill based service business doing something you already know? Yup... that too.
What about a portfolio of online businesses with your best-friend that focuses on cash flow? Have at it! (i'm guilty of this one)
You get the point - so i'll stop there for now.
Either way, the point remains that anyone can build an online business that suits their unique interests, skills, and goals in todays world.
And with this, i'm exceptionally excited to start writing for you this year! I hope you enjoy it and find life changing value in every letter.
Cheers,
- Hunter
