The ONLY Financial Strategy You'll Ever Need
Even if nothing else has worked before.
Flying Over The Ancient Lands of Babylon
Over 5 years ago, I picked up the book The Richest Man in Babylon at a garage sale.
What caught my eye was its promise of timeless financial wisdom—and it didn’t disappoint.
This book introduced me to a straightforward approach that's not only reshaped how I handle money but also how I live my life.
So now I want to share with you what has worked for me over the past half decade (not financial advice - just my story in hopes it can help you too).
Pay Yourself First
From day one, the idea was simple: take out a set percent of all income and put it aside in a separate account.
BEFORE the taxman gets his cut, before you pay the barista for your morning coffee, and even before your rent is due, you take a portion of your income and PAY YOURSELF FIRST.
This is how you protect yourself from falling into a paycheck-to-paycheck existence.
By consistently doing this I built a financial safety net that allowed me to pursue more exciting and risky ventures.
Simple, NOT Easy
Now, let's be honest, the concept is simple, but sticking to it isn't easy.
Many won't do it, thinking it's too basic to make a difference.
But put yourself in the shoes of future you… looking back years from now.. you’ll either be thanking yourself, or kicking yourself.
Three Piles for Three Purposes
Anytime money gets deposited into my main account, a good chunk is automatically directed into three separate accounts using automated reoccurring purchase:
i. Crypto Pile
This allocation taps into the high-risk, high-reward nature of crypto, aiming for explosive growth.
ii. Stock Pile
Funds here are invested in the stock market, where I look for steady and reliable growth over the long term, building a solid foundation for my investment strategy.
My strategy here is picking a handful of companies I want to own for the long-term, and pairing them alongside a low cost SPY index fund.
iii. Cash Pile
A portion is reserved in a cash savings account, providing liquidity and immediate access.
This cash account serves as a growing foundation of security.
Hidden Secret of the Ultra Wealthy
These diversified investments not only provide safety and capital growth but can also be used as collateral for loans by leveraging those accounts to secure financing and lines of credit, enhancing financial flexibility without liquidating the assets themselves.
Freedom to Enjoy Your Money
Since a big part of my income automatically dedicated to these strategies, I effectively secure my financial freedom and growth, and free up the rest of my income.
With my financial foundation built, I can freely spend on daily needs and living expenses, personal pleasures, fun with friends and family, spontaneous travel, once-in-a-lifetime experiences and whatever else money can buy.
Plus, I can use that extra money to further invest in my businesses or personal education, which in turn helps me make more income and stack those piles even quicker!
Baby Steps…
I hope you found what has worked for me to be interesting, or at least informative.
Perhaps even… inspiring…? Alright maybe I’m getting ahead of myself.
Thanks for reading!
I hope you found it somewhat interesting and/ or useful.
Until next time!
Cheers,
Hunter
